Two constructions of the moduli space of
vector bundles on an algebraic curve
Abstract:
We present two constructions to obtain the coarse moduli space
of semistable vector bundles on an algebraic curve $X$.
To do so, we survey semistability, Geometric invariant theory,
illustrate this theory for the moduli space of elliptic curves, and
show the importance of the global sections of the generalized
$\Theta$-line bundle associated to semistable vector bundles.
