What is … a positional game?

This page hosts information on Dennis Clemens' talk "What is … a positional game?" at the "What is …?" seminar. The talk will take place on Tuesday, February 19, 10:00am at the BMS Loft at Urania as part of the BMS Days 2013. This talk will help you better understand the talk by Tibor Szabó, which will start at 11am.

Abstract

Using some specific examples, we will introduce Positional Games, in particular, the class of Maker-Breaker games. Moreover, we will take a deeper look at the Erdös-Selfridge theorem from 1973 which often is seen as the starting point in the history of Maker-Breaker games.
